Zip2Job

Built with Python · FastAPI · React · Electron · SQLAlchemy

Zip2Job turns code projects into editable résumé entries. Built as a UBC team capstone, it helps developers identify useful experience in coursework, personal projects, and team contributions.

Find the experience in the code

An archive can contain several projects, including nested Git repositories. Language-specific analyzers inspect Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C, and C++ code for languages and skills. SHA-256 hashes identify files in a content-addressed store, while project fingerprints let unchanged uploads reuse cached analysis.

Project rankings consider contribution volume, variety, duration, and file count. A score breakdown helps users choose what to include. Users supply their own skill proficiency ratings, which carry through to the résumé.

Turn it into a draft

Users can edit entries, choose a template, preview the PDF, and download it. Optional AI assistance helps with wording, and the interface identifies whether a draft came from local analysis or AI assistance.

A React and Electron interface connects to the Python analysis service through FastAPI.
